Privacy notice and health data retention policy
By MenoVerdict editorial team
Notice to readers: This is a working legal draft, written to describe what this site and its tools actually do today, not what we might build later. It is scheduled for review by a qualified privacy lawyer before it is treated as final, and it is not a substitute for that review.
What this site is, in plain terms
MenoVerdict publishes independent, sourced articles and free tools about perimenopause and menopause. We don't give you medical advice, diagnose anything, or recommend a specific doctor, clinic, or treatment for your situation — see our medical disclaimer for exactly what that means. Where we compare telehealth providers or products, that's information for you to evaluate yourself, never a personal referral.
Your health information: we don't store it. You do, on your own device.
- The symptom tracker, symptoms checklist, treatment log, and doctor-report tool save everything you enter — symptoms, notes, dates, anything else — directly inside your own browser, using a built-in browser storage technology called IndexedDB.
- We have no server behind these tools. There is no database that receives or holds your entries. Nothing you type into them is ever sent to us, to an advertiser, or to any affiliate partner, and we have no way to see, read, or recover it.
- You can export your entries or permanently delete all of them at any time from inside the app's settings. Because we never had a copy, deleting it on your device removes it completely — there's nothing left anywhere for us to also delete.
Reading the site needs no account
Every article, evidence grade, and tool works without creating an account or giving us an email address. An email signup is only ever for a guide or update you actively ask for, and only sends what you asked for to the address you gave.
Accounts, membership, sign-in, and the AI assistant
These are not built yet. Where a button for one of them is shown, tapping it only tells you it's coming soon and returns you to where you were — it doesn't save, read, or send anything, because there is nothing behind it to save, read, or send to.
If we build real accounts or any feature that would send health information off your device, we will, before that happens:
- ask for your separate, explicit consent — never bundled into a general sign-up,
- tell you plainly what would be stored, where, for how long, and how to delete it,
- update this page first, so it never falls out of date with what the product actually does.
Analytics and tracking
We currently run no analytics or tracking of any kind on this site: no page-view tracking, no advertising pixels, no session replay. If we add basic, privacy-friendly analytics later, it will never include anything from the tools or tracker — only non-health events like which page was viewed — and this page will be updated first.
Your rights, and how to reach us
Because we don't hold your health data, there's nothing server-side for us to export or erase on your behalf — it's already entirely in your control, on your device, right now. For anything else — a correction, an accessibility issue, or a question about this notice — contact us using the details on our contact page. If you believe we're handling something incorrectly, you also have the right to raise it with your local data protection authority (for example, the UK Information Commissioner's Office).
